Cleaning Cost Average

As shown on the infographic, the average cost for short term rental cleaning for a one-bedroom property in California is $62.28. This cost is a three-percent increase from the previous quarter. Moving on, the average cost of cleaning a two-bedroom property is $85.79. This price saw a dramatic decrease from Q2 of 2020 by nearly eight percent. Lastly, the cost of cleaning a three-bedroom property rose nearly ten percent to $135.30. Compare these prices to what you are paying for Airbnb cleaning to see where you stand.

Historical Average

In order to benefit from data in your industry, it is important to look at trends over time. In this case, we’ll address the historical average price from Q3 2019 to Q3 2020. For a more in-depth look at previous costs, review our California Cleaning Costs in Q2 2020 blog post. The yellow line on the graph indicates the cost of cleaning a one-bedroom property. As you can tell, this line does not make many drastic changes throughout the allotted time period. The dark blue line, or two-bedroom costs, made a steady incline until dropping off after Q2 2020. Finally, three-bedroom properties represented by the green line steadily rose throughout the year. With a year as unpredictable as 2020, there is no telling where the prices may move to next year. Either way, continue to stay informed to ensure you’re sticking to best practices.

Travel and Cleaning in California

To finish off this article, let’s discuss some travel and cleaning topics in California. It’s important to remember that California is filled with a variety of climates and urban centers. From the warm sands of the south, to the fresh forest air in the north, California offers a wide variety of travel opportunities. Seekers of adventure will love visiting the Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz, California after spending a day hiking in the beautiful Henry Cowell Redwoods. After that, there’s never a bad time for some Pleasure Pizza.

As an Airbnb cleaning service, you can expect your properties to suffer from some water and sand damage. Be sure to make it clear that the guests should leave their surfboards and wetsuits outside at all times during their visit. If mud is tracked in after a hike in the forest, make a solution of warm water and dish soap. Apply this mixture onto the carpet or furniture and repeat as necessary. There is plenty of opportunity for activities, so be sure that your Airbnb cleaners know how to deal with an active household.
