As we launch into a new year, let’s look back at our final findings for Q3 2020. Specifically, we’re going to take an in-depth look into vacation rental cleaning and travel in North Carolina. During these winter months, visitors can enjoy the ski slopes, explore historic sites, and so much more. Now, let’s get into the infographic.

Cleaning Costs Infographic

As with the rest of our infographic blogs, this infographic was created using a compilation of data from thousands of projects completed on the Turno Marketplace. The infographic showcases two main sections. These sections are “Cleaning Cost Average” and “Historical Average”. We’ll discuss those sections in detail in the following paragraphs.

North Carolina Cleaning Costs Q3 2020 Infographic by Turno.

Vacation Rental Cleaning Cost Average

The first part of the infographic involves the average Airbnb cleaning costs for North Carolina for different-sized properties. For one-bedroom vacation rentals, we found that the average cost of cleaning was $50.48. This number saw a decrease of nearly seven percent from the second quarter. Next, two-bedroom properties had an average cleaning cost of $63.04. This number decreased by over seven percent from the previous quarter. It is difficult to say exactly what causes these changes in price, but we will make some predictions in the next section of the article.

Finally, the average cost of cleaning a three-bedroom property in North Carolina was $73.83. Once again, we find that this cost decreased by nearly six percent from the previous quarter. As an Airbnb cleaner or host in this state, you can use these figures to compare them to the prices you offer. Sometimes, it is important to adjust your prices in order to remain competitive in your market.

Historical Average

The final portion of the infographic deals with the historical average cost of cleaning from Q3 of 2019 to the present. Each line on the graph represents the average cost of the three different-sized properties. The cost of cleaning a one-bedroom property, represented by the yellow line, was relatively flat. However, the cost began to fall from Q2 to Q3 of 2020. The cost of cleaning a two and three-bedroom property followed a similar trend. There was a difference in the first quarter of the timeline, though.

The price of cleaning a two-bedroom property fell in Q3 of 2019 while the three-bedroom cost did not change. Then, the lines begin to move with the same trends. The parallel lines indicate that both two and three-bedroom properties had the same changes throughout the allotted time period. Macroeconomic changes like inflation and travel restrictions may have played a role in the changes we found. Demand for vacation rental cleaning and travel may also affect the changes in costs. Now that we’ve discussed the facts, let’s relax with some travel in North Carolina.
