Virginia Cleaning Costs for Vacation Rentals in Q4 2021

In the article, we highlight the average cleaning costs for vacation rentals in Virginia. Below, the infographic displays data on thousands of short-term rentals collected by the Turno Marketplace at the end of 2021.

The data is based on completed projects on Turno from October 1, 2021, to December 31, 2021.

Cleaning Cost Average

Based on this data, we’ve found the following averages for cleaning costs in Virginia:

  • 1-bedroom: $55.15 (up 21.02% from Q4 2020)
  • 2-bedroom: $76.40 (up 17.11% from Q4 2020)
  • 3-bedroom: $118.39 (up 11.04% from Q4 2020)

Historical Average

Over the last year, cleaning costs have substantially increased for 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom rentals in Virginia. Compared to previous quarters, these increases demonstrate a significant rise in prices across the board.

The line graph portion of the infographic represents the average costs of vacation rental cleaning in Virginia from Q4 2020 to Q4 2021. 

1-bedroom rentals, represented by the yellow dotted line, have shown consistent, marginal increases throughout the year resulting in the largest rise in price, 21.01%, from the previous year.

Cleaning costs for 2-bedroom units, represented by the dark blue dotted line, have also consistently increased over the past year. The dramatic increase from Q2 to Q3 resulted in an overall 17.11% rise in price for the year. 

3-bedroom units, represented by the light blue dotted line, show the only decrease in pricing throughout the period from Q2 to Q3. Despite this decline, the average cleaning cost for 3-bedroom units still showed significant increases from the previous year, 11.04%.

Overall, the substantial raises in costs for short-term rental cleaning in Virginia should be taken into consideration when pricing your services in the upcoming year.
